  Your passenger rights under EU and UK Regulations are as follows:


•If your flight was delayed and you arrived at your final destination more than 3 hours later than expected, you are entitled to compensation.
 

•If your flight has been severely delayed and your departure has been time has been delayed to the next day, you have the right to be refunded for any incurred costs (include hotels, meals and transport).


•If your flight has been delayed for more than 2 hours, Emirates will provide you with meal vouchers.


•In the event that Emirates cancelled your flight 14 days prior to the departure date, you have the right to request a refund.

1) Monitor for any updates from Emirates and request a meal voucher if your flight was delayed for more than 2 hours.


2) If your flight was cancelled, you can ask a member of staff at the check-in counter to re-book you on an alternative flight.


 3)Do not throw away any receipts for incurred costs, as you may be refunded.

Under what conditions can you make a claim?

Criteria for making a Emirates compensation claim for your delayed flight

According to EC Regulation 261/2004, the amount of compensation that you can receive depends on the total distance of your flight. You only eligible for compensation from Emirates if:


•Your flight landed or departed from the EU or the UK.


•Your flight arrived at your destination more than 3 hours later than the expected time.


Remember: You are not entitled to compensation if your flight was delayed, due to concerning weather conditions or a security threat concern.


Criteria for claiming Emirates flight cancellation compensation

It is important to understand that you are only entitled to compensation, in the event that you experienced an Emirates flight cancellation, if:


•You were informed your flight was cancelled 14 days prior to the departure date.


•Severe weather conditions or a security threat was not the reason for the cancellation



If your Emirates flight was cancelled today, you do have 2 options:


1) You can be re-routed to your destination on an alternative flight at the earliest possible convenience.

2) You can proceed to reschedule you flight for another date and claim your compensation. 



Remember: You cannot claim Emirates compensation if you cancelled your own flight. We provider more information of cancellation refunds under "Additional information about Emirates."

How much can you claim for any flight disruption?

When it comes to flight disruptions, understanding your compensation rights under EU261 is essential. The amount you can claim varies based on the distance of your flight and the circumstances of the disruption. Here are the guidelines for compensation:


  • Flight Delays with Emirates:
    • Over 3 hours: You may be entitled to compensation ranging from €250 to €600 based on the distance of the flight.


  • Emirates compensation for a flight cancellation:
    • Less than 14 days notice: Compensation of €250 to €600 may apply, depending on the distance of the flight.
    • More than 14 days notice: No compensation is typically provided.


  • Compensation for an Emirates overbooking:
    • If you are denied boarding against your will, you are entitled to compensation of €250 to €600, depending on the distance of the flight.


  • Compensation for missed connections with Emirates:
    • If your delay is caused by an earlier flight with the same airline, you may claim compensation similar to flight cancellation or delay guidelines.


Compensation Amounts by Distance:

The amount of compensation that you can receive depends on the total distance of your flight. The below clearly shows how much you ca be compensated for different flight distances:


       

  • Short Haul Flights (up to 1,500 km): €250/ £220


  • Medium Haul Flights (1,500 km to 3,500 km): €400/ £350


  • Long Haul Flights (over 3,500 km): €€600/ £520


If Emirates was able to offer you an alternative flight to your final destination and you arrived at the schedules arrival time (of your original flight) then your compensation will be reduced by 50%.


What else are you entitled to?

If you have experienced an Emirates flight delay, you will be provided with refreshments and 2 telephone calls. 

In the event that your flight has been delayed for several hours or Emirates cancelled your flight, you will be provided with accommodation and transportation at the airlines expense.

Checking in online/at the check-in counter

Emirates provides you with the option to check in online, through their mobile application, or at the check-in counter. You now have the option to check in or drop off your bags as early as 24 hours and up to 4 hours before your flight. Mobile boarding passes will be emailed to you if you booked your ticket online. If you booked your ticket through the Emirates mobile application, you have the option to save it.

Refund for canceling you flight

You can cancel your flight and be refunded, provided that it is done 5 hours or more before departure, according to the Emirates refund policy. You can cancel your Emirates flight under "Manage Booking."

Refunds normally take up to 5 to 14 business days.

Changing your flight booking online

You do have the option to make changes to your booking through "Manage your booking". Please note that you might be charged, depending on the fare conditions of your ticket.

Applying for a UAE visa

Emirates does offer a visa application service, but only for those who require one to enter the UAE. If you decide to change your booking, after you have applied for the visa, make sure the the visa applies for the new arrival and departure date.
